National Storytelling Week (February 1-9, 2025) is an annual event that celebrates the art of storytelling. I come from a long line of storytellers. For as long as I can remember, my Irish grandmother would share stories about her childhood. One of my favorite stories was about her “bellyflopping” in the snow on Halloween! I loved listening to her stories and listening to the detail she added to her stories. I learned a great deal from her about oral storytelling that I now use in my written storytelling. It was also a way for me to learn more about Irish culture. I guess storytelling is in my genes!

Please consider purchasing a copy of Two Wins for Wiley or Gertie Saves the Day for gifts. The holidays are quickly approaching and books make great gifts. Books can be read over and over again. It is my wish to get as many books as I can into the hands of children. Children need to hear all kinds of stories. A book is the best gift for both children and adults!
