Hi, I am Karen!
I write books that engage, inform, and develop a love of reading. I love when my books bring a smile or a few giggles to my readers.
When I am not writing stories or reading books, you can find me in the kitchen baking. I love to bake cookies. Chocolate chip cookies are my favorite.
I live on Long Island, New York. I am about an hour away from Manhattan. I am also a short drive away from my favorite place, the beach. I love listening to the waves, walking in the sand, the fresh salt air and collecting small shells.
I live with my husband Michael and we have two beautiful married daughters and two wonderful granddaughters.

In my first college writing course I got a C because the professor did not like my writing.

Short Bio
Karen Patricia Nespoli, Ed. D. is a best-selling, award winning children’s book author. Her education, training and experience with literacy and children have shaped her as an author.
Karen is a member of the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), Long Island Author’s Group (LIAG) and the 12 x 12 Picture Book Challenge.
